It feels really cool to have built an app that, without fail, brings me so much joy every time it does it’s job.
Photojojo’s Photo Time Capsule, designed and conceived by Amit Gupta, implemented by myself and Rosie Daniels - sends you emails twice a month with a selection of your Flickr photos from the same time last year. It’s infrequent enough that it’s a pleasure and surprise whenever they arrive, and unlike a lot of persistent “apps”, I never grow tired of it.
It is exciting stuff when someone else is dissecting a technique you built : ) In this case, improving as well - very clean and concise.
Tip: There’s another fun animation reward on our product pages when you click “Like” to add a product to your wishlist.

I’m REALLY excited about this!
For much of our work, where we do it isn’t really all that important. So for a while now I’ve wanted to try working in different places. Of course, it’s more fun with friends.
So for the next few weeks, Photojojo’s relocating to India!
Five of us fly out from San Francisco today, and 3-4 more join us shortly from the east coast.
The holidays are an intensely busy time for us, so what better way to wind down than a workcation! We’ll be shacking up in a 100-year-old restored Portuguese home in Siolim village in Goa for a couple weeks, then spending a week in Delhi.
Our goal: continue business as usual (ie. finding the most awesome photo stuff in the universe!!) We’ll also be going over the last year, brainstorming and planning out 2011, and enjoying some of the local scenery and food. If it goes well, we hope to make a trip somewhere in the world an annual tradition.
